When I travel I love to find a local farmers’ market. The colours are always inspiring and there is often great signage. When I was in Seattle I spent a morning at the farmers’ market in Ballard. Earlier in my trip I’d visited the iconic Pike Place Market but had found it almost overwhelmingly crowded. The Ballard market, which is Sunday’s only and takes over a one block stretch of the heart of this cute Seattle neighbourhood, was much more my style. Add a stop for great Seattle coffee and it was a pretty great Sunday morning all around.
